Breast lift surgery is a cosmetic procedure performed to lift and reshape deflated, sagging breasts. Dr. Lyons can resize and reposition your nipple, tighten your breast tissue and remove excess skin to rebuild new, beautiful looking breasts.
At the time of your initial consultation you will sit down with Dr. Lyons to discuss why you are interested in breast lift surgery and the changes that you would like to see. The details of your surgery will be explained thoroughly.
Dr. Lyons will take the time to listen, and all of your questions will be answered before you leave.
Your incisions can take place: 1) around your areola — where the light and dark skin meet around your nipple, 2) from the bottom of your areola down towards your breast crease, 3) additional incisions may be required above or below your areola. The placement and number of incisions required for your breast lift will be determined by Dr. Lyons based on your existing anatomy and desired results.
Once the incisions are made, Dr. Lyons will reposition and tighten your breast tissue. Excess skin will be removed and your nipple complex will be lifted higher up on your breast for a perkier appearance.
Breast lift is performed under general anesthesia and takes about 1 to 2 hours to complete. You will be comfortable and asleep during your surgery.
Take at least 5 to 7 days off work for recovery.
Every patient’s recovery from breast lift surgery is unique. You may heal faster than others, however, it’s a good idea to take a few extra days off work to rest and heal.
Your breasts will feel swollen, you will probably notice some bruising and areas may feel numb. These symptoms are normal and will disappear within a few weeks following surgery. Dr. Lyons will give you very detailed post operative care instructions to follow during your recovery.
Breast lift surgery can be combined with other surgical procedures such as breast implant surgery or a tummy tuck. If you are interested combining your breast lift with another procedure, please let us know when you call to reserve your consultation.
