Eyelid surgery is a cosmetic procedure that is performed to permanently remove excess loose skin above the eye for a rejuvenated appearance.
Upper blepharoplasty is performed to your upper eyelids.
At the time of your initial consultation you will sit down with Dr. Lyons to discuss why you are interested in eyelid surgery and the changes that you would like to see. The details of your surgery will be explained thoroughly.
Dr. Lyons will take the time to listen, and all of your questions will be answered before you leave.
Upper eyelid surgery incisions are well hidden in the natural crease found between your eyebrow and lashline.
Eyelid surgery can be performed under general or local anesthesia and takes about 1 to 2 hours to complete. You will be comfortable during your surgery.
Take at least 7 to 10 days off work for recovery.
Every patient’s recovery from eyelid surgery is unique. You may heal faster than others, however, it’s a good idea to take a few extra days off work to rest and heal.
Your eyes will look swollen and puffy after your procedure and you may notice some bruising. These symptoms are normal and will disappear within a few weeks following surgery. Dr. Lyons will give you very detailed postoperative care instructions to follow during your recovery.
Eyelid surgery can be combined with other surgical procedures. If you are interested in combining your eyelid surgery with another procedure, please let us know when you call to reserve your consultation.
